Why Africa Tech Policy Summit Matters
The Africa Tech Policy Summit AfTPS) is Africa’s premier multistakeholder forum for shaping inclusive, rights-based digital transformation. Convened by KICTANet, it builds on the legacy of Kenya Internet Governance Forum Week and AfTPS 2025, convening policymakers, innovators, civil society, academia, and the private sector to:

Africa Tech Policy Summit (AfTPS)

AfTPS is a week-long multi-stakeholder event convened by KICTANet to harmonize tech policies across Africa. It brings together policymakers, private sector leaders, academia, civil society, and tech startups to align national, regional, and continental efforts for digital transformation.
AfTPS is held in Kenya in May featuring flagship events like the Kenya IGF, Youth IGF, Children IGF among others. The summit includes workshops, exhibitions, and networking sessions.
The summit welcomes around 300 participants from government, private sector, civil society, academia, media, and the technical community. Youth and children’s IGFs are also convened to ensure inclusive participation.

Yes. The AfTPS will feature an award ceremony for participants of the Kenya School of Internet Governance (KeSIG), recognizing excellence in digital policy engagement.
Organizations can propose, sponsor, or lead thematic workshops and exhibitions. Sponsorship opportunities are available in both cash and kind, with a detailed package provided by KICTANet.
KICTANet is the host and convener of AfTPS. As a multistakeholder ICT policy think tank, it promotes an open, rights-based digital environment through advocacy, engagement, capacity building, and research.
